Play
Play really is very important to your child’s overall development. It is an integral part of a child’s Early Years Foundation Stage that supports their learning journey.
At the Play Den, our staff will enthusiastically help to develop your child’s many skills through the power of play, inclusive of developing their language skills, emotions, creativity and social skills.
Play underpins the EYFS. It also underpins learning and all aspects of your child’s development. Through play, children develop language skills, their emotions and creativity, social and intellectual skills. For most children their play is natural and spontaneous although some children may need extra help from adults.
Play takes place indoors and outdoors and it is in these different environments that your child will explore and discover their immediate world. It is here that your your child will practise new ideas and skills; they take risks, show imagination and solve problems on their own and with others.
The Play Den is designed for maximum enrichment through play. We have designed multiple dens, have many sensory stimulating areas with things to feel, press, screw and we actively guide children through their play, to help develop healthy social skills alongside their peers.
Here are a few of the activities that the children enjoy on a daily basis:
- Playing with the sand pit, water table, playhouse
- Painting, drawing, gluing and sticking
- Creating with construction blocks and play dough
- Moving and dancing to music
- Listening to stories and reading
- Jigsaws and puzzles
- Cookery
- Singing songs and nursery rhymes
