Kate holds overall responsibility for the setting and is responsible for all financial aspects of the setting, staff training and development of the setting. Kate ensures the business is up to date with childcare initiatives and working best practices, which are then incorporated into our setting to always maintain and uphold high standards. She holds a BA (hons) in Early Childhood Development and is passionate, equally dedicated and committed to providing high quality childcare and early education. Kate is the settings Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer.

Marie Giddings- Level 3, Assistant Manager

“I have worked with children for 22years and enjoy helping them to develop into the little people they are. Nurturing their abilities and given them support to understand the can-do attitude. Helping them to learn new ideas and exposing them to new learning opportunities I value a child’s life and understand how we as adults influence and are role models. Love the job and that everyday is different, you laugh lots and try to give them the best start in life by helping them achieve.”

Marie started at The Play Den in 2017 and is responsible for the day to day organization of the setting, deployment of staff, managing enquires and organizing new children placements. She is also the setting’s Designated Safeguarding Officer. Marie holds a Level 3 childcare qualification and has a varied background in children’s care, working previously in a reputable Nursery and as a special care baby Nursery Nurse. Marie shares the values of Kate and is equally passionate about making sure all the children in our care receive the highest standard of care and early education.

Emma Davis – Level 5 Deputy Manager and Room Manager

Emma joined our team in 2013 and is third in charge of the nursery. She is also room manager.. Emma is committed to ensuring our young are cared for to the highest standard and are 

stimulated to explore and learn new skills in our newly updated homely nursery room. Calm and consistent, Emma holds of a Level 5 Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies. Working as our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator, she also ensures children who require additional support are monitored and appropriate action taken when children are not meeting expected outcomes.
