learning and development. I love my job! I’m in a enviable position to 
be able to steer my setting in creating an environment where children 
are given opportunities and are facilitated by my
staff to learn new 
skills – and I get to laugh every day!” 

Kate holds overall responsibility for the setting and is responsible for all financial aspects of the setting, staff training and development of the setting. Kate ensures the business is up to date with childcare initiatives and working best practices, which are then incorporated into our setting to always maintain and uphold high standards. She holds a BA (hons) in Early Childhood Development and is passionate, equally dedicated and committed to providing high quality childcare and early education. Kate is the setting’s Designated Safeguarding Officer.

Emma F – Level 3 Deputy Room Manager, Room Manager and Deputy Safeguarding Lead.

Emma joined us in 2018 having previously worked at Day Nurseries and is second in charge of the nursery. She is Room Manager to our children aged under 3 years working Tuesdays to Thursdays. Affectionately known as Frosty, she is an energetic member of our team who is supportive and knowledgeable and is well respected by our parents and staff team.

Emma D – Level 5 Deputy Manager and Room Manager for under 3 year olds.

Emma joined our team in 2013 and is third in charge of the nursery. She is also room manager.. Emma is committed to ensuring our young are cared for to the highest standard and are stimulated to explore and learn new skills in our newly updated homely nursery room. Calm and consistent, Emma holds of a Level 5 Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies. Working as our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator, she also ensures children who require additional support are monitored and appropriate action taken when children are not meeting expected outcomes.

Amy – Level 3 Room Manager

Amy has worked at The Play Den since 2016 and is Room Manager for our pre-school aged children. Amy works tirelessly to ensure fun and engaging activities are always available for the children in our care. Amy ensures children leave our pre-school with the skills required for their next stage of learning at school.

Bethany – Level 3 Early Years Educator

Beth joined our team in 2017 as an apprentice. She has remained with us and recently completed her Level 3 childcare qualification. Beth’s passion is to help children who are not  typically developing and she works hard to ensure the children in our care have challenging but fun and enjoyable learning experiences.

Alice – Level 3 Senior Early Years Educator

Alice has been part our our team since 2017 and works with our youngest children in our baby room. She is a calm and caring member of our team and works tirelessly to ensure activities and routines are suitable for the ages and stages of the children in our care. Alice forms strong attachments with the children in her care by offering a safe, secure and nurturing relationship with both young children and their parents/carers.

Sarah- Level 3 Early Years Educator

Sarah started her career with us in 2018, starting as a parent helper. She was employed shortly afterwards, completed her level 2 childcare qualification and has recently completed her level 3. She is a lively, fun and engaging member of our team who works with our pre-school age children. A mum herself, Sarah is caring and kind and ensures the children in our care have a fun learning experience.

Tessy – Level 3 Early Years Educator

Tessy joined us in June 2021 having completed her student placement with us. She is a calm and consistint member of our team and also manages our Rockin Robins afterschool provision.
